Putting is such an important part of golf that it really does need its own golf club. The putter you choose really does make all of the difference.

A belly putter can add stability and control to your golf game but you really do need to make sure that you not only understand why, but that you also pick the right belly putter.

Belly putters are going to be longer, at about 41 to 44 inches in length. Conventional putters tend to come in at 32 to 36 inches for their putters.

To use a belly putter, you will need to make a smooth stroke, like the swing of a pendulum. If you are right handed, here’s what you need to do.

Remember that posture matters. Your knees will need to be slightly flexed, your upper spine straight and your torso bent forward over your hips. Your weight should be balanced, yet favor the left foot slightly. Your elbows will need to be bent slightly and brush the side of your ribcage.

What you need to do is make sure that you place the grip of the putter in your palms and use your normal putting grip. A light grip helps for better rhythm, but not necessarily control.

You want to anchor the putter to the left of your navel. Your stroke arc will be just to the left of your body center. Put your body parallel to the target line and position your eyes over the inside edge of the ball? Ready to strike? Not just yet!

Remember that stroke? Use a good pendulum stroke, arcing slightly inside to inside. That’s the best way to really make sure that you’re going to be able to really get the good putting action.

If you’re a newcomer to the world of golf, we think that belly putting could honestly be one of the best things that you could ask for.

Fitting your belly putter is important as well. To do it yourself, you’re going to need a good friend, a mirror, and some measuring tape. You will also need to go with your current putter as well. A ruler, protractor, and goniometer also help as well.

You’ll want to lay the mirror on the ground and see the center of it to represent the ball. From here, you also need to measure the length of your current putter.

You will need to hold the putter and the ruler, bending your elbows slightly and setting both of them against either side of your rib cage.

You will also need to bow forward from your hips, and take a comfortable putting stance with your knees slightly flexed and your forearms in line with the putter shaft. Your hands should hang under your shoulders.

You will need to adjust slightly so your eyes appear in the middle of the mirror. That’s when you know you have the right stance down pat.

After you get the stance down you will need to slide the ruler into your belly and look at how many inches have t be added to your putter to get the right belly putter length.

So, where does your friend come in? Well, they are going to need to place the protractor on the ground and measure the lie angle for your belly putter. This is often between 68 and 74 degrees. The head weight needs to be around 400 grams for your belly butter.

If all of this sounds confusing, you can get fitted at a professional golf shop or even at an instruction center that gives lessons. Good luck with your putting!

Hooray for woods! We’re not talking about the ones you explore with a few hounds and some of your best hunting buddies. We’re actually talking about golf today, and most importantly, we’re talking about the type of equipment you’re going to need to buy.

Beginners hate the idea of having to invest into their golf game, but it’s really important. If you don’t invest into the sport of golf, you’re not going to be able to play golf for very long. It’s very difficult to really play golf without the right gold clubs, after all.

Of course, you can always rent some golf clubs if you only want to play occasionally. However, as you really develop a sense of the game, you really need to make sure that you’re buying your own golf equipment. If you don’t buy your own equipment, you’ll constantly have some muscle confusion and tension as you have to switch back and forth around equipment that isn’t really designed to take care of your needs. You need to make sure that you focus on the type of game that you really want to play. Do you dream about being able to play so well that your friends can think of nothing but congratulating you on your success on the golf course?

Or is it just something to do recreationally? Even if you just want to play for fun, there’s nothing wrong with developing a hobby that you can truly be proud of. You just need to make sure that you check out everything for yourself and look into some reviews. But in order to look at reviews, you still need to figure out what you actually need.

That’s where this guide comes in handy. We think that starting with the golf fairway woods is definitely a good idea. These are the clubheads that are made of metal. They used to be made from wood, which is where they get their name. This is going to be comprised of your driver as well as a few other “smaller” golf clubs. You’ll probably have a 3-wood and a 5-wood. You don’t have to carry both — some golfers like to only carry one.

The driver is the one that’s going to be the longest club in the bag. It’s the hardest to control your swing with, but you will have to keep practicing until you master it.

Clubheads are often made from either titanium alloys or steel. The steel costs less, but you’ll get better precision and power with titanium.

What you have to understand here is that your fairway woods are going to be progressive in nature. So that means that a 3-wood has less loft than a 4-wood, which in turn has less loft than a 5-wood. This translates into distance as follows: a 3-wood will go farther than a 4-wood, which will go farther than a 5-wood. You get the idea.

When you’re starting out, you want to use your fairway woods first, and then switch to your driver. There’s no need to try to get the ball into the hole with just the driver. While you might dream of being Tiger Woods, there’s no reason why you have to put too much pressure on yourself in the beginning.

Golf is about having a good time, and these equipment tips are the best place to begin!
